DAY 9 - COMMIT

Committing to any change can be a challenge, so well done for reaching Day 9! This is a good time to look back and see how far you have come and the improvements you have seen with your health. This is also the time you may question just how long these improvements will last? The answer is completely up to you and the lifestyle commitment you are willing to make. How committed are you to seeing continual improvements to your health, and if you are feeling amazing, why would you stop now?

 

Many people talk about doing challenges, some people even pay for them and then never complete one day, some never even start. Imagine where you could be in a months’ time, six months’ time or even a year from now if you began today. Time will pass regardless, and it would be tragic to be sitting in the same place wishing and hoping things were different. Wishing won’t get you the results you dream of. Wishing won’t help you lose excess weight. Mindset and commitment will. So, the question you need to ask is, how committed am I to my health and what am I willing to do to get it back?

10 BASIC STEPS

This is the time to define your future and imagine yourself there. If weight loss is the goal, then imagine yourself at that weight. You need to have a specific future you are striving for and committed to, so your present circumstances take on new meaning. If you don’t see a future, you are actively striving for, then how can you commit to learning and growing through a new experience? Instead, you’re likely to repeat your old patterns over and over again, wishing for a different result that will never eventuate.

 

Let’s begin with 10 basic steps to commitment:

 

1. DEFINE YOUR FUTURE SELF – you need a clear vision for the person you plan to become.

2. GATHER INFORMATION – Inform yourself with everything you need to achieve your goal.

3. TELL OTHERS ABOUT YOUR PLAN – All progress starts by being accountable and sharing your goal.

4. INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE SELF – Shatter your subconscious limitations, you deserve every success.

5. ELIMINATE NEGATIVITY – Do not let the environment around you, control you. Remove roadblocks.

6. JOURNAL YOUR FUTURE – Take the time to think, reflect and strategize every day.

7. DEFINE YOUR ACTIONS – What steps can I take today in the direction of my goal.

8. WHAT IS THE WORST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN – Face your fear and do it anyway.

9. BE ACCOUNTABLE – No excuses, be accountable about daily performance/progress with a friend.

10. BE PRESENT – Take time to rest, recover and disengage. You need to unplug to re-engage.

CONCIOUS SHIFTS

Surrounding yourself with likeminded people will inspire you to persevere with your commitment and hold you accountable. These conscious shifts while in the beginning may seem uncomfortable for fear of failure or embarrassment will be the very thing that drives your motivation to success. Stick with it and the future you dream of will become your reality.

 

Watch your thoughts, they become words;

watch your words, they become actions;

watch your actions, they become habits;

watch your habits, they become character;

watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
