Belly Bloat DAY 6 - GOALS

Are you moving in the direction of your dreams? If not, then today’s message about Goals might be a timely reminder to reassess and prioritise.

Somewhere between childish dreams and becoming a responsible adult many of us lose sight of the horizon and end up disillusioned with where we are at in life, quoting that infamous line, ‘is this as good as it gets?’. If that is where you find yourself, then there is no better time than now to take a seat at the fork in the road and contemplate your next step.

Note: All meals are interchangeable. Be flexible and practical and think ahead about the most convenient way to make sure you have a healthy day.

Life can take many twists and turns, but it is vital for our mental health that we check in with ourselves from time to time and reassess if we are still on our desired life path to fulfillment and happiness.

- Am I living my best life?

- Am I healthy and happy?

- Do I enjoy my work?

- Am I moving in the direction of my dreams?

- What can I do today to move towards my goals?

These are questions that should be asked on a regular basis, maybe in place of unachievable New Year’s Eve resolutions we could seriously re-evaluate our status quo and have an honest conversation about the direction our life is taking and where it may need some tweaking.

We should not dismiss our dreams and desires, infact we should honour them and revisit them often to keep us accountable, because if we are doing what we love in our personal and work life, chances are we will have better health, better relationships and a better outlook on the world around us, and isn’t that the ultimate goal?

Age is not the obstacle here, mindset is. It doesn’t matter where you are in life, you can improve upon what you have and where you want to go, and that comes down to setting goals and doing whatever it takes to move in that direction.

- Do you want a better job? - Start applying for better jobs!

- Do you want to create more income? - Educate yourself by learning from those who do!

- Do you want a loving relationship? - Know your partners love language and honour it!

- Do you want to buy a property? - Stop spending money on unnecessary things and start saving!

- Do you want to be healthier? - Make better choices, exercise, stop eating rubbish!

The goal with Goals is to find solutions and not excuses. Next time your find yourself coming up with excuses about why you can’t do something, turn the conversation around and ask yourself what you can do. Once we begin to reprogram the way we respond, our mind begins to focus on solutions. But be warned, this may lead to serious happiness, job satisfaction and kicking goals!

There is nothing stopping you from changing goals. In fact, you may find that once you reach your initial goal, opportunities may emerge for bigger and better goals. This is healthy for personal growth, relationships, mental and physical wellbeing and hopefully your financial future.

If it’s been some time since you reassessed your goals, start writing a list of all the areas in your life that you would like to improve and next to them, create the solution to moving confidently in the direction of your dreams.

Go kick some goals!
