What is Thermography?

‘Why don’t I know that?’ is a common reaction from women when we begin to share information about health conditions and preventative health strategies.  Of course, we can’t possibly know everything, but it is a problem when doctors don’t fully inform women of the options available to them when looking for solutions to long standing health problems.

So, we thought it was about time that we had more of these conversations and our intention is to package this information into a podcast where our objective is to ‘inspire women through education and conversation’.

We had our first chat with Jess about Thermography. https://www.advancedthermography.com.au/  Thermography, or Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) is a totally non-invasive clinical imaging procedure for detecting and monitoring a number of diseases and physical injuries, by showing the thermal abnormalities present in the body including inflamed tissue. Very popular for monitoring breast health and something every woman should know about.

WHAT CAN THERMOGRAPHY DETECT?

Thermography will assist in the detection of emotional distress, thyroid health, digestive and liver disorders along with aiding in the diagnosis or monitoring treatment in the following conditions:

  • Unexplained pain
  • Headache
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Dental and periodontal disease
  • Vascular disease (including occlusive disease, deep venous thrombosis)
  • Back injuries
  • Identification of myofascial trigger points and tender points
  • Infectious and Inflammatory conditions
  • Neurological disorders
  • Stroke screening

WHAT CAUSES CELLULAR CHANGES?

Stress consistently presents as a major threat to good health.  If prolonged it can lead to uncontrolled inflammation, cellular changes, and ultimately chronic health conditions.

When you can see the physical changes that stress creates in the body through a thermography scan, it is human nature that you are more likely to make the changes necessary to improve your health.

CAN YOU REVERSE CELLULAR INFLAMMATION?

The good news is YES!  By addressing the underlying factors that cause inflammation, you can heal yourself.

Begin by reducing your stress, embrace an anti-inflammatory diet based on fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and quality proteins, ensure regular exercise is part of your day preferably in the sunshine, hydrate with clean water, and spend quality time with people you love.

Supplements are a great way to support the body’s inflammatory response and turmeric is without doubt one of the most researched and well tolerated natural substances that can have positive systemic results.

If you are living with stress, then supporting the nervous system should be your priority.  Chronic stress can lead to more serious health problems including depression, digestive issues, muscle tension and pain, heart disease, high blood pressure and strokes as well as leave you more susceptible to infections and illness.

This is where herbal medicine shines as therapeutic herbs like Ashwagandha, and Passionflower are well absorbed by the body and can provide the calming and soothing affect you need without the drowsiness.   Magnesium stores are easily depleted from stress too, so make sure to top up on this essential mineral every day.

We don’t know what we don’t know, so we hope by sharing this information and asking the questions through our upcoming video series, we can help empower you to take control of your health journey and live a long, vital life.
